The Jirov wines from Corcova

Written by  Corcova

Corcova Roy & Damboviceanu announces the launch of a new range of wines, Jirov. This is aimed to the general stores, being present in the MegaImage chain, starting with August. There are two wines, a white one - Sauvignon Blanc -, and a red one - Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot. They both come from the same vineyard like the wines already launched - from Chardonnay to Syrah -, they carry the same DOC name, Mehedinti - Corcova, and they are produced with the most exigent methods, in the same press houses, recently modernized.

The white wine is obtained 100% from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, manually picked up and put in small boxes. It is a dry white with floral flavors, with a balanced acidity, and with a smoky final note, and could be paired to white meat, salads or fish dishes. The best is to cool this wine, in these warm and beautiful autumn days. The red wine is made by combining Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, a classic recipe, representative for Corcova Roy & Damboviceanu. The fine flavor of this wine, with forest fruits notes, is fulfilled by a full-bodied taste, light peppery, with a soft final note. It is good to know that this wine should be decanted before drinking it, for better results.
Through the new range Jirov sold in the general stores, we desire to offer quality wines, at correct prices, to a varied public. Therefore, the recommended final price is 28 lei for a bottle (VAT included). By taking in account the noble source of these wines and the winemaking methods used, we speak an excellent offer, rarely saw on the Romanian wine market. As in the past, the honesty of the producer is proved once more through the name chosen for this range. Because this name is not of a non-existent castle, but of the village which has the hills with these vineyards: the Jirov village.
